Oddisy Drone Dispatch System

As a capstone project to my Robotics Engineering and Electrical & Computer Engineering degrees at WPI, I worked on a team with 3 of my peers to create a fully autonomous drone deployment system. The intent of this system was to target a particular aspect of drones that hasn't been well flushed out. How can you automate drone missions without direct human intervention? Our approach was to create a system that could be installed at/near a location of interest that required repetitive missions. This could for example be surveying a farmland for crop growth, inspecting wind turbines, or gunshot detection and first responder missions.

During this project I was responsible for the control system of the drone and base station. I designed all custom PCBs responsible for various tasks like charging the batteries to ensuring safe flight.

Show below is a video of the full system functioning.

The full report can be found here with all design files including CAD, source code, and schematics.
